Remove dirt, glass and litter by simply sweeping or using a power blower

Cleaning is generally left to the elements, however when nature is not as helpful, wash the surface using low pressure water to loosen embedded soil and other contaminants.

Control vegetation a minimum of 6 inches from all edges of the surface. Do not run mowers over the Safety surface system as this will damage the surface. Keep swales and catch basins clear and in good working order to ensure the surface is properly drained.

Try to remove the stain by scrubbing with warm water and grease dissolving detergent. If the stain persists it may be a petroleum base. Treat this type of stain by applying mineral spirits with a rag and rub lightly. (Never pour or saturate the surface with any solvents as this may weaken the binder) Do not repeat the application more than two times per day.

Try freezing the gum with dry ice and scraping it off with a blunt metal edge.

Remove with a stiff bristle broom/ (Do not use equipment that can leak oil/gas , or treads which could tear the rubber surface). Do not use de-icing agents as it may stain the surface. Ice will not damage the surface. If you are concerned with slipping, the surface can be treated with a clean organic kitty litter. Do not use sand, ash or other abrasive non skid materials

Safety 1st Surfacing does not support combustion. If a burn mark is on the surface you can try to treat it by lightly sanding it with medium grit sandpaper. If results are not satisfactory, lightly spray with a urethane spray paint (purchase from hardware store) which closely matches the color.

Safety 1st Surfacing is durable and resilient. It will provide support for wheel chairs and just about any traffic. Tables and chairs may puncture the surface as the weight is concentrated on a small area. If a table or chair is used it is best to use plywood or another type of bearing plate to distribute the weight evenly over a larger area. No spike heels should be worn while walking on the surface. This may cause one to trip and will damage the surface
